SOGON APPROVES REVISED CONSTITUTION, REVIEWS LIFE MEMBERSHIP DUE DOWNWARD

SOGON members attending the Annual General Meeting of the Society yesterday 24th November 2021 at Makurdi, unanimously approved the revised Constitution of the Society which takes effect immediately. This followed the approval of the amendments to the 2012 constitution by congress.

Earlier on, the Vice President 1, Professor Okechukwu C. Ikpeze had highlighted the amended sections and presented the clean copy of the revised constitution. He also led the Constitution review committee. Members of the committee were appreciated by members for their painstaking and diligent work.

An important highlight of the amended constitution was the downward review of the Life membership dues. Hitherto, members who have been financially up to date for at least ten (10) years can apply for life membership on the payment of a single bulk payment equivalent to another 20 years’ dues. With the current revision, the single bulk payment will be for ten years only which stands at two hundred thousand Naira only, with current annual dues standing at N20,000.00 only.

Members of the sector are encouraged to utilize this revision and obtain their life membership of SOGON.  The Annual Conference continues today with the Opening Ceremony.
